That's why I was so glad when my alarm went off this morning and I knew it was Saturday. After it went off, I started catching up on recreational reading, while Joe continued to sleep. Once he was well rested, we headed out the door from brunch.
Seriously so delicious. I wasn't even able to finish the omelet, but it was ah-mazing.
We sat and soaked up the sun while eating and sipping on coffee. We were able to chat and catch up. There was no rush because we had nowhere to be.After stuffing ourselves silly, we hopped in the car and asked each other,"What do you want to do?" I almost always have our days planned out. However, there are times when it's nice to just go with the flow. I started driving...and we happened upon a conservation area that we've been meaning to check out. (How awesome would it have been if we had thought ahead and loaded our bikes and stuff? Oh well, another day.)
It was around 42 degrees at the time. Joe put on an extra hoodie, just in case we needed it. We looked for the nearest trail head and started hiking.
Now is a good time to remind you that we've never been here, and that I just drank a lot of coffee....
So about an hour into our hike, I'm starting to worry that I'll need to use the ladies room soon. We start discussing which way we think we should continue that has the best odds of leading us out. I never got to the point that I was doing the inner argument of whether to go in the woods, or not. Thank goodness. However, I knew that if I did, than there would suddenly appear at least a 1/2 dozen people. Now, awkward as that may be, at least they could point us in the direction of our car.
Luckily, we found our way out a short bit later.
We were able to hit a fire trail and easily walk the 3/4 mile or so back.
Total hike time: 1 hour 45 minutes.
We arrived home in the afternoon and decided to take our crazy dog for walk. She seemed a little stir crazy, and we were already warmed up. It was an absolutely gorgeous day outside. It's hard to believe that we were blanketed in a foot of snow a week ago.
Total walk time: 40 minutes
Then we sat down to relax for a little bit. We watched a t.v. show or two, and I hopped online to log in all my food and activity. We snacked quite a bit. Then I remembered that I had missed a scheduled Active2 workout earlier in the week. So I rallied and completed that. I was highly energetic today so it was actually a perfect time for me to makeup my missed workout.
Total time: 35 minutes
We decided we didn't feel like lounging around the house all evening. We instead opted to go see a movie. I still had some WW points left for movie snacks. I don't actually like popcorn that much though, so I only had a few handfuls.
And if you're wondering....while I sit here blogging, he's sitting beside me playing XBOX. Aww....love.
